ok its my moms birthday today. i wanted to do something nice so i baked her a cake. it was complately iced and everything so i set it on the counter. my step sister wanted it out of the way so she stuck it in the turned off oven. that wasnt a problem. i knew she had done it. my sister is making baked chicken for my moms dinner. she apparently forgot the cake was in the oven and just started preheating the oven to 400 degrees without taking the cake out. i go to put the chicken in the oven and when i open the door what do i see but molten icing on my cake! it had been in there for at least 10 minutes! so now the cake is likely ruined. how likely is it that the cake is over cooked and the resolidified icing will be nasty?

UNHELPFUL ADVICE:
Can you take a picture and submit it to cakewrecks.blogspot.com?

POTENTIALLY HELPFUL ADVICE:
Can you scrape the frosting off and try to refrost it with new frosting?

Kesta try refrosting it. And take a pic - your mom will laugh!!!!

If you have powdered sugar, milk and vanilla you can make frosting, my DD was amazed when I showed her that not all frosting comes pre made....

you can chill the frosting and re-frost it, orrrrrrrrr....use the melted frosting and ICE it.

ORRRRRR......

5-6 cups powdered sugar
6 TBS cocoa
1 stick butter
1 pkg cream cheese
1 tsp vanilla
6 tsp milk or cream

beat all together and voila frosting. omit the cocoa for vanilla frosting.
use different flavors instead of vanilla for different flavors if you like something else.
