I think the topic pretty much covers it!

I don't have any chickens, though I've wanted some ever since a guy I used to work for brought in some fresh eggs from his chickens and gave them to the employees. I had no idea eggs could taste that good! Anyway, I'm an avid gardener and love to produce my own food, so chickens would fit in nicely with my existing hobbies. I'm not in a financial position to add to my mob of critters at the moment, but I figured it couldn't hurt to learn more about them in case that changes. A friend from a horse forum directed me to this place, so here I am. I think I've learned more about chickens in the last hour of going through the FAQs than I've learned in my entire adult life.

Hello from Paulding Co, GA! You didn't happen to work at the GA Power plant near Bolton Rd when you got those eggs did you?

DH was taking eggs by the box full to give away when he was working there this past Nov & Dec. Its hard to believe now, but we were overrun with eggs from our 7 hens for a while til we got a system going with friends and family. Now we need more eggs - so we HAD to get more chickens. haha
I'm fairly new to the forum too. BYC is very informative and addictive!

Haha, nope, I used to work at a pet supply place in Tucker called Cheshire Pet supply. The owners had a massive throng of animals, including chickens (they laid blue and green eggs... Americaunas or something like that?). Every once in a while they'd bring in a few cartons and us peons would split them up. Gooooood stuff.
