I'm so glad you joined the flock! redsoxs gave you some amazing links, but in answer to your question: depending on the size of the breeds, you'll want 3-4 sq feet per chicken in the coop, and 10-15 sq feet per chicken in the run. If you get a heavy breed such as Wyandottes, you'll want to ere on the higher side of that, if you get a small breed like a Leghorn, you can ere on the smaller side. But remember, chickens are addicting and you'll want more, so build a bigger coop than you think you'll need. I hope you enjoy BYC!
