I think as your chicks grow you will see how many will really fit comfortable. I'm glad you have someone who will take the ones you can't keep. Stinks you can't keep lots of them.
You are going to like the red sexies. Mine started laying at 16 weeks, small eggs that got larger. Even now at 2 years they lay large to xlarge eggs on a daily basis. They laid all winter even with all the snow we got this year. They love to free-range when they can. They go crazy for crickets, grubs, and japaneese beatles!
