I will be getting a couple chicks in about six months, and i'm
wondering what to feed them at certain ages. I will probably
be getting large chickens, seven to eight pound girls.
And i'm just wondering what
to feed them, when. I've heard lots of different things to feed
them but I just want some instruction on the differing foods
you should get them as they get older.
I'm totally clueless about this, so please help.
Thanks,

How old will they be? Most standard breeds only top out at 5-7 lbs, generally. Are they grown or youngsters? If they are not of laying age, chick starter or the combo starter/grower. If they are laying, layer crumble or pellets. Or you can use a general purpose feed that takes them from hatch to laying age and beyond, like Flock Raiser from Purina or even game bird grower feed. Just supplement with oyster shell for calcium when they begin laying.
