Raelyn - sorry to hear of your chicken loss.

Last year I lost one of my silkies only a month or so after getting her from the breeder. No known cause and the other 5 were fine. However the loss of even one was so upsetting, I kept thinking it was perhaps something I had done and I just couldn't bring myself to buy any more, even though my husband kept telling me to get some more. However today some 6 months later I have adopted 4 more bantams - - polish and cochin (whose owner is moving interstate and can't take them) and finally feel ready to add new stock to the hen house! It is funny how these little birds can attach themselves to our hearts so quickly!
