As unfortunate and sad as it may be dispatching a chick, allowing them to live and starve to death slowly because of their health issues would be more cruel.

I had to cull a blind chick a few weeks ago and it made me feel horrible. I know just what you're going through. It still kind of haunts me, I'd never killed anything in my life before that. You did the right thing, even though it was awful for you. I'm really sorry you had to do that.
