Tough choices

This kind of stuff just sucks, plain and simple. I would just chalk all the "woulda, coulda, shouldas" up to experience and learn from it. I definitely have had enough chicken deaths to learn from, but it has had made the lives of the other chickens better. I'm so sorry for your loss.

It's that nagging feeling hanging over you when you sit at your desk, thinking, "I could be home with my chickens..." Poor baby was home alone 10 hours each day. RIP Lacey. Thanks everyone for all the support.
Lacey is the grey one in front. She never would hold still for the camera.

She was a pretty hen. I'm sorry. It happens and you'll feel crummy about it, but reality takes over and you did what you could with what you had available. Most of are learning as we go along. It's hard to lose one because of being ill prepared or just not knowing what to do. Don't beat yourself up.
