Tough Winter

That's about the size of our winter here in NJ. MAJOR snowstorm in late Oct. causing 7 - 10 day power outages, and then basically nothing for the rest of the winter. Heck, the ground never even froze solid. I am not complaining, mind ya.

While I am loving this winter, I am also wondering if no snow will cause a water shortage this summer.

Well, given all the rain we have been receiving here in NJ, all the reservoirs are at capacity. I would guess that should be the same situation in NY. I'm guessing that you are OK, NYboy.

My tulips and narcissus started peaking up through the soil in the beginning of February. I was worreid that a hard frost would kill them off....now there are about 6 inches tall. It is around 50 today!

2 times I shoveled the snow here. If only I had set up my cold frames I could have had fresh veggies all winter long! The chickens water only froze a few times all winter.Figures that last winter when the furnace broke it was like 2-10 dgrees for those 5 days with no heat.Same time this year it is 30+

Love your white out!
