Okay, for some reason, Google has failed me.

I have a pair of Toulouse geese, I got them August of last year as goslings, so they should be about a year old now.

Earlier this year, the female laid two eggs. And that was it. I can't recall what time of the year it was, but around March-April I believe.

Was this normal?

When will she lay again? Will she set the eggs herself?

Thanks.

Er well, I was under the impression geese were seasonal layers. I thought perhaps she matured enough to start laying, but then the season was over.

When does the season start again for geese?

The eggs were normal, and they get plenty of feed, both commercial and free range.

SOMETIMES geese don't fully mature until they are a couple of years old.

The ganders may not be mating her "successfully" either, and so what eggs she does lay may not be fertile for a couple of years.

They only lay enough eggs, seasonally, to produce a batch of goslings.

Then again, something might be sneaking in and ate most of her eggs.

I'd worry if this coming spring she does the same thing.
