Toulouse Geese

Hey there, just wondering about the breed as I would like to raise a few one day. Are Toulouse geese hard to clean up after, compared to ducks? Hardy in the cold? Good meat producers? The main reason I would raise them is because I love their look and for Christmas dinner. Any thoughts/opinions? Thanks.

 

[Duckopolis]

They are about as messy as ducks except that the poop doesn't wash away as easily. They are weather resistant depending on the age. The best meat producer geese are probably Embden because they have white under feathers making a clean appearing carcass. Toulouse geese are more of a barnyard type.

They get nice and fat. They do have nice temperaments. Their poop definitely stinks less than the ducks. But they are about as messy. They don't root like ducks so not nearly as much muck in your water buckets
