If you are looking for a breed to also butcher I would also suggest the American Buff because they
have lighter colored pin feathers and dress out better.

Certainly agree with you about quality, though it's not always tied to price it often is. I do have buffs from Metzers however, and they're beautiful specimens. Lovely color, great size, excellent temperament and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

My Buffs might be a little bigger as they are exhibition. But still not as big as my Dewlaps. But GREAT personalities!!

They are beautiful, perfect feathering, full even bodied....and very content. Nice shot

I know D. Holderread has discontinued the buff line a while back but came to mind while enjoying your photo. Thank you for sharing.
