I got this toy a while back for my Penedesencas and they didn't seem to care. They were busy foraging the ground for bugs. Now that the snow has covered the ground, I put treats in it again and they figured it out. It's a yellow ball that they can peck at and roll over so that treats will fall out

They may just need some time to get use to it.
It took mine a couple days to scratch around a plastic water bottle I drilled holes into and filled with feed.
Just give them time.
