Yara, turning 3 months on the 13th. She's growing into quite the beautiful bird! Still have no idea if her comb is single or walnut haha

Easter chick! New silkie hybrid, hatched by my Polish around 1pm today 🙌
Five toed, strong leg feathering. Possible mothers are Salmon Faverolle, Buff Orpington, and Black Star. Father is likely my black Silkie

Hatched April 18th. Salmon Faverolle + black Silkie Bantam, 5 toed and walnut combed. They have a beard and muffs just like both parents. This chick was the last to hatch from my Polish's clutch and I didn't think they would survive. Long story short: not long after they piped their Polish mom did the "broody shuffle" on top of them.

Wouldn't have been a problem if they weren't already piped, the compromised shell was crushed and there was bleeding. I put the chick under my broody Silkie that happily accepted and kept them safe and warm until they hatched. When they finished absorbing their blood vessels, they needed help out of the rubbery membrane. I'm certainly glad they survived! This little cutie just turned 2 weeks old.

Faverolle+Silkie, turning 6 weeks in 2 days. Just a spiky ball of pin feathers at this point. Bit of a slow developer but quite dense for their size
