Hi all

I have been studying plans for about 18 months and am pretty handy.

My main question is is it viable to take someone's design that is made with wood only and to reduce cost and weight, switch out sections of the design to PVC?

I was thinking of changing sections like the frame of the run and coop to PVC but maintain the ply coop walls etc

If I do I was thinking 1 1/2" but am up for input

Any thoughts would be great

Thanks!

My only concern with PVC is it gets brittle when exposed to sun and cold and could shatter at some point.

But that is like saying wood can get wet and rot at some point as well is my only concern I'm just not sure where to go with it. Tough choices

True, and I've been told that painting the PVC will stop the sun from making it brittle, you just have to be careful in the cold.
