It took me a little over two months to finish the build. I involved my kids and quite a few of my friends. I had thought of the design over the last two years and decided to finally make do on it . I wanted it to be movable and simple to use. I also wanted it large enough to accommodate enough chickens . I'm pretty sure I could fit at least eight . It's 12 x 5' and I also ordered the wheel set from Quail manufacturing. I will install the wheels tomorrow and get my Pullets. Wish me luck !

12 x 5 = 60 square feet. This would be fine for 8 chickens in the coop, but is crowding them in the run if their going to be confined all the time. If they don't get to free range you might want to cut that back to maybe 6 chickens. Overcrowding can lead to chickens that fight a lot and if you get one girl that gets picked on she's got nowhere to hide or get away. If your going to free range tho your set up will work fine for 8 pullets.

and it's always better to build bigger than you think you'll need....chicken people tend to "find" more birds one way or another....
