The chicks are now 7 weeks old & have been in their tractor for 3 weeks. DH finally finished the wheels & run & I opened the door today! Within 45 minutes I had some chicks down on the grass led by the lone Sebright! It took DH forever to finish the section just under the coop. We used a trailer jack to lift the coop so the floating wheels can be locked in place. It must weigh at least 500 lbs., but moves amazingly easy with 2 people. We have to permanently attach the wire on the top half of the run, but I wanted them out today as it is finally going to be hot! The windows are hardware cloth with plexiglass coverings. He made a great screen door inside the main door. I will have to make a page to show all this later, but here are some pictures. The entire tractor is 4 by 12 & the coop is 4 by 6. I have 24 chicks (bantams), but will pare down to 8 soon.
