I know tractor supply has a contract with Hoover hatchery but I thought they also could buy from local hatcheries? Anyone know for sure?

I think it depends where you are as to who they order from. I know my TSC orders from Hoover.

Depends on where the TSC is located at. Pretty sure, when I asked at our local store, that the answer wasn't "Hoover's" - but can't remember which one!

Another farm store (single location) orders theirs from an Ohio hatchery (Mt. Healthy), and another farm store chain (several midwest locations) orders from a midwestern hatchery - I think it's located in MI. So, you'll have to ask someone knowledgeable at the store.

Thanks! I live in Tennessee ( southeast) and it’s my first time buying chicks from tractor supply. Last year they had black frizzled Cochin bantams! I had just bought Mille Fleur and drove 2 hrs to get them so I know how they look. And I don’t believe Hoover Frizzle Cochins. Of course it was in a bantam mix and not labeled. Thanks again. I just wonder if anyone on here has more insight

I got a few mixed bantam chicks last year at TSC. They originated from Hoover and one did end up being a frizzled Cochin.

I have red and white frizzle Cochins from TSC. Our TSC gets their chicks from Hoovers.

So I guess they do have frizzles! Cool well I love Cochin bantams! I already have a pair of milles. Hoping for D’Uccles but I’d be happy either way!

We ended up with a trio of Millie's, a trio of porcelains, the frizzle, a black Cochin and four silver laced Cochins. We lost our two Millie hens to predators. We are waiting anxiously for a bantam bin at tractor supply!

It’s a slippery slope with bantams I was planning on buying hatching eggs and I saw these at my tsc. They are porcelain ( or self blue) duccles. So far in love. They look right at me with those little cheeks.

The pictures aren’t clear but two rows of feathers makes me believe I have all 4 females
