Tractor Supply Chick Days 2018

Went to get feed today at 1 of 2 TSC we have locally and they had Blue Australorp and Sicilian Buttercups among others. That's a rarity around here, so naturally I bought 2 of each, could not resist. I'm a sucker for the Blue breeds and been contemplating getting some Sicilian Buttercups for awhile, problem solved! I will say that the living conditions these poor chicks we're in had me worried, i.e. soaking wet bedding, overcrowding and large chicks with smaller chicks. Also, the staff knew nothing about any of the chicks and we're not helpful at all. Feel so sorry for these poor chicks. Well 4 of the chicks have found a great home!

Ours (Middle TN) has Rhode Island Red pullets, Black Sex Link pullets, ISA Browns, Rhode Island Red straight runs, Bantam straight runs and ducks. I was hoping to find some Easter Eggers like some of you have, but was out of luck this year!

I got these cuties yesterday, only 2 silkies in the assorted bantam bin and had to buy 4, so I got the others. Didn't kno what they were until I asked. But now I'm glad I got them, looks like I will have some different looking birds, they let me pick my own chicks. My husband is going to ban me from TSC

Went to tsc a week and a half ago.
All the chick cheeping made me want to buy a few more.

They had plymouth white rocks and slw. In their tubs.

Bought 10 of each straight run.

But now at about 2 weeks old I'm going to have some very big white rocks or 5 of them are cornish cross. I can't get my hand around them to pick them up.
They are twice as big as all the others in the brooder. Their legs are big around as a #2 pencil.

Feathers are spare and can see some skin.

Gonna be kinda bummed if that' s what they are. Was hoping for white rocks that's what I paid for not cornish rocks.

Wonder if they have a replacement policy for a mess up of theirs that was not any other breed I may have wanted.

Probably not.

Rant over

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to return chicks when they get bigger and they are not what they were suppose to be?
Wonder if that would make them be a little more professional in KNOWING what they are selling.

Course I bet you love those big fat white rocks, don't cha ?? :love
