I got a menagerie at Tractor Supply February 20th, so they're all two and a half weeks old. I'm already starting to see roos. Would you guys mind helping me point out the obvious roosters? Also, some black chicks ended up without barring, so I was wondering what they were. Any info on the breeds I got would be helpful. I'm sure I got some standard mixed layers.

When I first got them:

Three looked like this

Three like this:

One like this one:

And two of these:

The first chicks now:

Roo?

Roo?

The odd thing is, one of the black chicks has a white face... It has the same leg color and barring on its back, though

The all black chicks:

The one dark brown chick, which is turning very brown:

The other three yellow chicks. One is turning buff with barring? I don't think I caught a picture of it, put I'll try to upload one.

All together:

Roo?

Roo? Yeah that's a cockerel. There could be others but this is for sure.

I'm no good with breeds sorry but you may have some Barred Rocks and Buff Orpingtons but someone will have better answers. I'm better with gender.

Here's some updated photos from today. Maybe it will be easier to sex them.

Top view:

Buff chicks:

Barred chicks:

The barred chick with a white face. I'm pretty sure he's a rooster, but I'm still curious about his breed:

Brown chick:

Black chicks (I didn't get many photos focused solely on them, but their heads are in the backgrounds of other photos):

Some more group shots:

Thanks in advance for help!

Nothing is really standing out as a roo to me at this point

The barred chicks with straight combs are Barred Rocks
The barred chick with the rose comb is a Dominique
The reddish buff one and also the darker reddish brown one probably came from the red pullet bin, likely production reds, red sexlinks, cinnamon queens etc
The solid black one Im going with Black Jersey Giant

Is it a possibility that all of the barred chicks are sex link roos, and the black chicks are the sex link pullets?

Possible. But I very highly doubt it. They look like Barred rock pullets. And the other barred one is a Dominique not sure on gender since its young. Do you have a picture of its head spot as a day old?

What did the bin say that you got them out of?

That's a relief to me. I don't have a picture, but the spot looked almost identical to the barred rocks. It actually took me a while to notice it was different and had a white face, so I didn't take an individual photo of it when I first got them.

The bin said barred rocks and sex links, but the sex links were all red. They only had a few black chicks, so I bought them all.

Thank you for the help! I don't mind having roosters, they'll just live in the 'bachelor pad' with my other ones, but it looks like I might get a nice amount of hens out of this group.

And will do!
