Has anyone ever got baby ducks or chicks from the Tractor Supply Company ...Here they get them in around Easter time,and no one at the store can tell me anything like ages or what kind...Just wondering? I was going to get some but dont know if they will be sexed as I need NO more drakes!

They will be indexed and on arrival will be about 3 days old

So there is no way to know the males from females? I know the breed of duck and what the babies look like just cant get stuck with drakes need more females!!!

I've only seen them sell "assorted ducks" meaning straight run, whichever breeds the hatchery had to spare for shipping that day. Years ago I got the 6 they had left, and it was 3 ducks and 3 drakes. drakes were a splash runner, black swedish, and pekin. ducks were black swedish and two white crested. I guess you'd have to be ready to process the drakes or sell them/give them away. The only good thing, is hopefully other buyers can't cherry pick the females like they can with auto-sexing or sex-linked chicks.
