Tractor Supply federal tracking!?

They're also going to identify those who grow there own food! How about filling out a form to buy a carrot at the farmer's market! Go to you tube and look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtLGuOQemnQ

See
HR375 (ie can't feed yourself without our permission bill). No joke.

Can't hunt your food, can't raise your food, can't grow your food. Has everyone gone mad?

Yep, the TSC in mustang, oklahoma is requiring info for purchase. He said its for disease issues.

The guy also said, he's had to comply with these things for sheep for years, that cattle are about to have to comply to the same things that sheep are, so its just trickling down.

(14) FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY- The term `food production facility' means any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard, aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation.
I take this to mean everyone who has a coop/runs would be in this category since there is no definement of size, just the word "any".

Everyone should write their congress/senate reps and voice your opinion lest the current gov dictates your coops size, run size, etcetera, etcetera etcetera.

This is nasty stuff for the average person who has a backyard garden and coop.

Asked our Texas Department of Agriculture inspector today about this. He said if implemented in the current form it would affect us with regulations from the feds and the TDA. From current interpretation, if we sold product from our garden, eggs, chicks, hens, etc... we would be subject to regulation from our home or store. He did not have any information on farmers markets, but hypothesized that sellers would be required to collect regulated information from the buyer.

I bought my chicks from Orscheln's in Oklahoma a few weeks ago; there was no minimum and they didn't require any information. If I need to fix something I'll go TSC, if I need to feed something I'll stick w/ those who know (not TSC).

sad to say but its not JUST chicks that this occurs with:

how many of you have those little "reward/member" cards for grocery stores / sporting good stores / hard ware stores?

You know the ones. you fill out the form, they give you the little card to scan? Well... its called a "tracking device". YUP YUP. It tracks what you buy, how much you buy, WHEN you buy, etc. Hubby and I went to Dicks Sporting Goods the other day to buy ammo - guy behind the counter says "Here, are you a member of the rewards program?" DH says "nope and dont want to be" Guy asks why, all you need to do is fill out this pamphlet with your info (name, address, birthdate, telephone number, etc) and you'll get "rewards' for every so much you spend."

DH told him "and your company tracks what I buy every time I scan that card - no thanks"

Guys said "well yeah... its how we know what to send to you for coupons"

BULL it is! I can go online and get FREE COUPONS without signing up for your "rewards program"

I'm a member of Sam's Club - I pay to be a member. What I DONT LIKE is that at the end of my membership they send me a statement saying what I've bought and how much I've saved in my years time as a member; from meats, to OTC medications, to clothing - to whatever. Its TRACKING not my savings/spending - its tracking my ITEMS.

WRONG WRONG WRONG.

I am really glad someone brought this up. I also stopped using a store that requires a card for the sales. Its all tracking your purchases. What is the world/country comming to? " DICTATORSHIP!" Our local feedstore is an independent, I brought them web sights on the HR875 they knew nothing about it. I am really beginning to seriously think about buying my poultry feed with cash....No checks or Credit/debit cards. No paper trail.

I do know Ideal has all my info...BUT, I will figure a way to denie...I am getting my chickies now... Do you think there is ever a chance to micro-chip peeps before they sell them to you????

Some people are in such a state of denial... they know nothing about all this new CHANGE. Some since its hidden behind the "safe food act" think its great. I do know when I was around parrot people, years ago they were beginning to microchip them...

Bingo---that was my first thought! Taxing on livestock etc. We have to pay people's mortgages somehow! We're the land of the "FREE SOR SOME AND PAY FOR OTHERS". So sad it's come to having to hide gardens and pets.......instead of a tea party it'll be an egg fight!

Huh... Well here in Murray KY no tracking info is asked for, so doubt it's federal. May be state, or at the least the businesses idea.

Orscheln's which is a farm and home chain store through 9 states did not ask for any information. Nor did the local farm co-op which is a state managed county run institution.

I can kinda understand it however, considering how bad diseases can spread if not properly detected, managed and disposed of.

That or it's a plan by Homeland Defense to prevent livestock from being used as chickens of mass destruction.

I'm going to say this TSC is probably trying to track the amount of customers that buy chicks versus the ones that dont. The communication from corp to employees is probably non exisant therefore the workers are saying what ever they managers told them to say

As for a TX thing. We have 4 feed stores in a 5 mile radius and TSC is the only one trying to chick track of chickens

BTW a lot of pet places track animal purchases/adoptions think Petsmart and Petco
