I just called Tsc about some chicks and they said they are in quarantine until this afternoon, what would they quarantine for and for how long?

They usually keep them in back for a day so that most that are put out to buy aren't going to keel over. Gives them a chance to do inventory and for the weaker ones to die off out of view for the publicWell, I'd think not too long, or else they aren't "day old" chicks anymore. Standard suggested quarantine is 2 weeks to 30 days, from what I've read.
Maybe they want the chicks to get over shipping stress, so they look a bit more healthy. And then any that don't make it aren't in with the live ones.
This is what I was thinking...Maybe they want the chicks to get over shipping stress, so they look a bit more healthy. And then any that don't make it aren't in with the live ones.
They get them all in boxes (like we do) and have to sort them. That would make sense. Yeah I was taken aback at first when she said “quarantine” but I think I get now what she was saying. I asked what breeds they had and she was very crabby with me and did not seem happy that I asked and then a few moments later hung up while I was on hold.
