I went to Tractor Supply to get some chick starter and mealworms and I ended up bringing home 13 chicks! 10 Cornish Cross, for $1 each! They were out growing the bins so they need to get rid of them FAST. I also got two ISA browns and a Rhode Island Red pullet regular price!

I vent sexed them and 5 were “females” 5 were “males” so I’m going to give limited food to the females and eat the males. I’m sure I accidentally got one or two wrong, but whatever, we will just wait. Right now they are like hungry piglets. But to the contrary, they aren’t sluggish.

I have raised birds that we eat but never the Cornish cross breed.

I was always wary of them because they are artificially produced and modified or something but I just couldn’t pass up this deal.

It is highly likely that you will have to eat your females at the same time you have to butcher your males.
They aren't meant to live long.

Is it ok if I mix my chicks I hatched myself with the Tractor Supply Chicks? They are the same size I’m just worried that Tractor Supply might have gave them Shots like Mareks Disease Vaccination.

There's nothing artificial or GMO about them. They're just the result of decades of research and highly selective breeding.
