Tractor Tire OK to be in the run w/ Sand in it?

Hi,

We were thinking of putting a tractor tire w/ sand in it in our Run for the chickies...just so that they always have something readily available and maybe they'd enjoy running around on it too?

Is this safe for them? Probably dumb question but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

are you hanging the tire?...I am assuming not because of the sand..

if you lie the tire down on its side i dont see why it would cause a problem...i would put a mix of DE and sand then when they dust bathe they are doing bug control too

make sure the tire cant fall on anyone and crush the chickens
