Trade: My Crazy Eggs for your . . . .

The absolute cool thing about your mix is that if the Ameraucana rooster is covering them, any of his daughters will have the potential to lay green eggs.

I wish I had something to offer in trade, but my Millie Fleur D'Uccles won't be laying until late spring.

My current birds that are laying are Rhode Island Reds, sex-links, Barred Rocks, and Dark Cornish. My roosters are Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, and Cubalaya (blue wheaten). I have bantam roosters too, but the likely-hood that they're covering any of the larger ladies is slim (even if they do try). They all free-range together at the moment.

Yeah, the Exchequer Leghorns are white egg layers, and from what I've learned on this forum, that could mean that the mixes may lay SKY BLUE eggs! I guess even the Polish crosses would be blue egg layers, since those lay white eggs, too.

Although soon I may switch roo's, and let the less dominant Giant Gray Cohin rooster take over. He's running around in there, but other than the Frizzle hen, I haven't seen him cover any of the other gals - the smaller EE roo chases him away anytime he even thinks about it!

Mostly, I'd like to see what a blue Cochin crossed with Silver Laced would produce. Blue laced with white, I hope??? It would be easy to find out, because right now, the only brown egg layers I have are the two Silver Laced Cochin girls.

Plus, my EE hen is orange/blue, so the blue gene would definately pass on there - so they'd be some kind of blue-ish colored green egg layers with fuzzy feet??? LOL!!

Might have to give that a try soon . . .

Oh, btw, I've hatched about 25 chicks from this mix so far, some with the Sussex roo, and the latest with the EE roo.

Plus there are another 20 eggs from this cross in the 'bator right now. And with the boyfriend out of town, I may add another dozen in there while he's gone. (He eats most of their eggs!)

I think that will allow me PLENTY of these to choose from for my own - especially considering I only have room for a few more hens! LOL.

Looks like I'll have some extra hens & roos from this cross to sell on Craigslist or whatever, in a few months, when I figure out what genders and who is the coolest looking of the hens to keep for my own . . . I have a strong feeling one of the new chickies may end up as next spring's rooster replacement!
