Traditional New Years meal

I used the bone from the Christmas ham, simmered it down, sliced off all the yummy bits, and added a package of black-eyed peas I soaked last night.
Corn bread, haven't planned out the meat yet, but collards are just something we can't eat.
The peas give you luck, the collards being green, are for money, (maybe that's why we don't have any. Can't eat them

Hmm, cheese cake sounds good, I think I have time for that.
Happy, safe New Years to you all!

Same here! Every year, for as long as I can remember. We have hot dogs, too.

Hubby just got back from the store, with milk for the taters. My mouth is watering, can't wait to eat!!!!

Yup, pork & kraut is a german-pa Dutch tradition. My family has done pork crown roast with cranberry cornbread stuffing for the past 20+ years. With my dad passing this past April, (he did the cooking), my
mom changed the menu to sauerbraten, dumplings, red cabbage, mashed potatoes and green beans.
