I'm reading your girl had an abundance of fat.
Please stop all treats and only feed the complete balanced feed.

Being over weight probably caused the internal egg laying issues she had too. :(

but it's not a black and white or shock and awe thing.
The whole diet should be balanced and each bird is going to be different in how it metabolizes foods. This birds issues probably had multiple causes.
I agree but the one thing we as keepers can control, some what, is what we feed them to help prevent them from getting fat. Overweightness itself causes these type of problems.

Yes, that’s what my vet told me and she’s an aviary as well as a regular dog and cat vet. She said no one really knows exactly why it happens in some cases.
