Came home from work today to find that my only buff Orp pullet had jumped out of the mini run and squeezed between the big run wire. She wandered to the dog pin and didn't not wander out. I had to bury her and explain the loss to my son. Now the little buff roo will be lonely. When living on farms these things happen that's what I told the family.

No buffs anywhere close. Going to get some barred rocks this week to replace this little girl. Or first loss in 3 years. Heartbreaking really knowing I could have prevented it

I am sorry for your loss. It does happen. I lost some pullets to my dogs who are very gentle but they thought the chicks peeps were like their chew toys. It is always tough but it is a part of life as hard as it sounds. Sometimes it is no ones fault.

Don't blame yourself. Itoo just went through my first loss and what a loss! My girls got a virus and I lost all but one bird. I'm devastated! My heart goes out to you and I know how you feel. Big hugs to you! So sorry for your loss!
