Training a blind chicken to find food and water

That’s a good question. One I don’t have an answer for. She started limping around a couple weeks ago. But was still hanging out with the other 2 roaming the backyard and going up at nite and coming down in the morning. The limping stopped but when I was away with my surgery my daughter was looking after them and told me she didn’t go up that nite but she put her up then the next morning she didn’t come out. Once I was home and observed her I realized she can’t see. I have a vet appointment next week to get her checked out
Can you post pictures of her eyes? Ocular Marek's is a possibility.

Welcome to BYC.
I would suspect Mareks, also. I would not let them continue to free range. The others will carry marecks, as well, although they may show no signs or symptoms.
I believe she will be able to find food and water, if she and her flock are all confined to the run.
Good luck.

In dogs that are blind, we pair them with a buddy and put a bell on their collar. They learn to follow their buddy. Does she have another chicken buddy? I don't know if a bell would work on a chicken, but it's worth a try. I'm not sure if chickens will peck at a bell? Another idea might be to hang a bell over the food and water? Do you have enough wind for it to work?
