ok so my ducks are now almost 3 months old! but we are having a lot of trouble trying to train them. there a lot of work! but we love them and are super glad we got them! but when we got them we thought that they would be like our chickens and after a little training go in the coop by themselves. well we thought wrong because they dont. are mine the only ones who dont do this and are they too young to be expected to do this. also we have a bit of a problem. we are going on vacation for about a week in 2-3 months. what do do because they need to be trained by then. is it even possible to train them to go in at night and will they go in every night? please help me!

What about clean water?
They free range everyday to our pond and we will have someone coming about 2-3 times a week for the chicken eggs so they will also be filling up our wateres and our baby pool that we also have for them

Honestly.....no they won't go to bed in a structure on their own.

In the video the keeper is giving a verbal while also gently herding them that direction.

I am doing the same with mine but it is up to the human to drive them inside at night.

Due to predators ALWAYS seeming to find chickens and ducks while the keepers are out of town this is what I would do.

No free ranging while I am gone.
Someone reliable to come at sun up and sun down every day to let them into a secure run, gather eggs, fill feed and water then put them in the house at night.

Is it a pain in the backside....yup.
