    I have two conures. one lunges ot my finger every time i put it in the cage. the other one just runs. are there any free guides to training/taming them or does any one have any suggestions?

    It depends on their birds. If they were ever handled pets before it shouldn't be hard. With smaller parrots I've had success with talking to them gentle with the door open (parrot proof your house first, and consider clipping). At first they may just hide in the back but after a week or so they might get courageous and come over to your side or even out. As far as lunging, Is he biting after he lunges? Stand your ground and he may stop. They try to manipulate us, and for the most part it works. If all else fails catch them with a towel and hold them like that for a while each day and once they figure out you won't hurt them they might come around. It takes work to tame a parrot.
