In St Peters, Missouri, I have 16 (5) week old chicks in a spare bedroom, I purchased a coop from Rural King 2 weeks ago and put it up in a bedroom due to being too cold for the chicks to be outside. When will I be able to put them in the coop? My coop is built around the outer part of a detatched garage, and there is a 12x12 room in the coop that I can block off so the birds can not go into the other sides of the coop, I was wondering if keeping the 2 heat lamps on would be enough to keep them warm... they are used to the temp being around 65-70 degrees in the house, but our nights are in the low 20's and I worry they may get too cold.

Don't put them in the coop until they are fully feathered. I'd wait until they are 8 weeks old at least. Two heat lamps should be able to keep them warm enough, but you'll have to watch the birds to know for sure. If they huddle together or act unhappy, they are probably too cold.
