transitioning chicks to coop

We have 14 chicks that are 7 weeks old. They are still much smaller than Goro, Lola and Snowball. When do we introduce them to the adults coop? How will they fit in to a tight fit group. Will Goro our Roo take to 14 more young hens nicely or will we have a problem?

Interesting thread. Will be reading along to get others' experiences/comments.

We're already in the 90s in Tx with 100+ predicted for the weekend . Nighttime temps 72-80, depending on the day.

Mine are 3 weeks and have a ton of feathers; their heads are feathering out now. I've taken them out a few times to get them used to it. They're outside now in the tractor getting a couple hours acclimation.

I think I am moving my 4.5 weekers out to the coop tomorrow. I've got a wireless thermometer in there and with both of my vent doors open (I have two doors that open to hardware cloth for ventilation since we didn't put in enough windows) it's 80-85 in the coop.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that with all the work hubby and I put in that no predator will eat them the first night! (it's covered top to bottom with hardware cloth and has a skirt as well).

Hubby thinks I should put half out tomorrow and half in a few days but not sure how good an idea that is. I haven't figured out the pecking order yet and I might get them all frazzled.
