I know that 69 pages are a lot to read, but that's why I put all the relevant information in the first post. Like about how I can't have a tarp.I would simply put a tarp over the top of the run. I do that anyway in the winter, also draping over the particular side where most of the wind would blow in. I then weigh it down with bricks on the corners and put a board or two across the top to keep it from ballooning in windy weather. Hope it helps!
Happy New Year to you too! So happy for you! YAY!!! Did any feedback/gossip get back to you over the holiday about Mr. Electric Roo??? Lol!Happy new year, friends!
I have discovered that I won’t need to extend the privacy fence in order to hide the abominable neighbor from my sight when I’m in the run with the chickens. The new patio umbrella I installed recently is HUGE - 10 feet wide - and blocks my view of his house completely when I’m sitting in my favorite spot hanging out with the chickens. Yay!
Here’s my view now (his house is fully behind where the umbrella is):

There’s significantly less stress involved in my visits to the chickens now!
Haha. Nothing from the neighbor or the town, and everybody else LOVES him!Happy New Year to you too! So happy for you! YAY!!! Did any feedback/gossip get back to you over the holiday about Mr. Electric Roo??? Lol!
We love our hen too! She was on the fence post from Thanksgiving until just this past weekend. We took her down and she's in the attic until next Christmas. She held up beautifully---no loss of glitter either!!! So glad we bought her for our holiday decor.

Some of my hens are now 4 years old. They all HATE snow. If they are out free ranging, they immediately head for the porch and park there, pooping all day, lol. They sit on the bench there and anyone driving by can see them. The neighbors all think it is so cute and love them! They never got over hating snow, lol.Awww I love the photos, thanks for sharing! So brave, out in the snow! I wonder if my chickens will ever get over their fear/hatred of the snow. I think we have some progress. There's a pile in the corner of their run that hasn't melted yet, and it has wood chips on top from where I was shoveling. I've seen them climbing on it now, and the other day I even saw one eating the snow underneath! I guess when partially covered with wood chips, the snow isn't all that scary
Here are a couple of pictures for you, tooFluffy butts!
