My birds are now 3 months old. I have them on the starter/grower crumbles. When should I transition them to layer pellets?

You can transition them to layer feed when they start laying. Either that or keep them on the starter crumble and just offer calcium/oyster shell free choice on the side when they start laying.

With the shortening daylight, I would wait till they start to squat, when you put your hand over them, and their combs and wattles are red and swollen. Buy 25# bags of Starter/Grower, so when they start to lay you won't have a lot of the Starter left. At 16 weeks offer them Oyster Shell in a separate container. When they start to lay, mix the Starter with the layers feed 50/50 to help with the transition. If you are switching to pellets, toss a small amount on dry ground as a treat to get them interested in it. GC
