I know the weather in the midwest is super cold, but I am picking up some day old chicks this week by car, and I'm looking for suggestions to keep them warm enough during the 2 hour car ride home.
Other than keeping the car's heater on high, and covering the box, do you have any suggestions?
thanks

Rice socks work well in a pinch. Old sock fill with rice microwave about a min until hot. Mostly keep drafts off of them in a box covered with heat on. That is how we do it

I've got hand warmers - up to 145 degrees F - and toe warmers - up to 107 degrees F.

Which is better for 3 chicks in a small 5"X 8" box with holes punched around the top?

It will be wrapped in socks, but I was just wondering if they only need a little heat or if they need extra to heat more of the box area?
