Trap Nests

I'm planning to build 2 more coops this Spring so that I can separate chickens for breeding.

Along with this, I've been thinking that perhaps I would build "trap-nests" and set them up so that when a hen leaves a nest she would go into a different part of the run...at least until I let her back into the main run with the others she'd be with.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Also...any GOOD examples of Functional, yet Simple, "trap-nests" ?

Assuming ya just want to know who is laying eggs wouldn't a digital motion sensing camera in the nest work?

Dont know how you would build a trap nest. Dont even remember what one looks like.

Wow that's a really neat design.

The only ones I've seen are the metal ones that fold in the middle. You push them up and when the hen bumps into them they fall.

That wooden one will be alot easier to put together myself!
