Spread some peanut butter on mesh of trap entrance. Then mix some catfood and feed with water to make a runny paste and microwave it to make nice stink. Place that in back of trap. Still have a flashlite and lite rifle handy. Do you a baby monitor to hear if something does not work as planned?

Sounds like a coon, time to upgrade your coop and run with 1/2 inch hardware cloth at least 2 to 3 feet up from the bottom with a additional foot buried in the ground in a L shape. Chicken Wire is to weak and predators are able to access is easily.

I have actually thought about using a baby monitor ! I'm working on traps as we speak wish me luck and thanks for the ideas!
