Thank you very much! i dont know what it is with husbands....UGH!...mines in the dog house though because he let it go...and now if we cant catch it again...i will have MORE of their babies in the spring to deal with!....i mean WHO would let it go when it was trapped in the coop!...DUH!..

i wonder about him sometimes....

....he might as well as given the weasel a live chicken to take with him!!! *packed it a nice little supper and all...maybe some wine also...*

I hate to say it, Wendy, but it won't draw any more predators than the scent of the coop probably already does (why I keep three set at all times I won't stop them from coming, but it sure decreases the overall frequency of predation when we're here to range the flocks).

weasel, ferret... they walk on a route, find their entry point, set the trap on their route with the dead chicken as bait.

locking the chickens in will only work If there is not a hole as large as your thumb anywhere along the floor or in a wall.. If they can get their head through, they are in..
just like a rat..

thanks! i never even knew we had them here! but i am by water..so..i guess it makes sense...i heard they like to live by water...i can see now that my run fencing is WAY to big to keep them out....i dont know what to do now...UGH!...
