Traveling with a duck

Hello! I am thinking about adding a new addition to my flock. However, the duck I want to get is two and a half hours away. I have an animal carrier that has plenty of space to fit a duck. I am planning to put towels on the bottom of the carrier and stop for occasional water breaks. Would it be okay for a duck to ride in a car that long?

Should be fine. I have rehomed up to 4 hours away. For 2 hours I don't think a water break is necessary. Just be sure you are temp controlled.

Yes, I’ve done it, one duckling will take it better that the other though. some eat and drink and clean themselves as normal, some sleep and some freak out a little. In my experience the last type benefits from a quite dark comfy spot

I have rehomed bird eight hours away, 16 hours total. I just set them in a dog kennel, with feed/water, and cover the kennel with a towel.

The dog kennel was waterproof so a mess wasn't really a concern of mine.
