My chicks are 2 day old.
I will be going to the country this afternoon and I am a bit concerned in leaving the chicks alone at home. Although they will be well protected in their brooder, my cat will stay home too. Which could be a disaster!!!
is it reasonable to take them with me (2 hours travel), and make the jouney back by the end of the weekend?

let me know your experience and suggestions.

Leave them home, just put them in an area where the cat can't get to them. Like in a bathroom with the door closed. For 2 days they won't need food or water, but you can place some in the brooder. The trip could be more dangerous than the cat.

I took 4 chicks on an 8 hour drive to visit my sis. Gotta make sure they stay warm but not too warm. A box of shavings with a puppy pad on top, and a washcloth to nestle under worked well. They mostly slept on the way there.

They were a week old on the way home and wanted to play
