Treat for coccidiosis?

Too late to find out if the vet will test it today. But I'll get an answer first thing tomorrow. I'm guessing he likely will be willing to do that. Better to wait until after on the corid you think? Likely I wouldn't be able to start until tomorrow night if I wait.

If any are lethargic, not eating/drinking, etc., then I would start the Corid. It sounds like they are still doing o.k., but I would watch them closely to see that they are drinking well.

Thank you. Yes everyone wanted dinner. Saw some more yellowish slightly foamy poops though, so I'll have the corid in hand and hopefully get a test in the morning.

I've never had coccidiosis issues but seems it can knock down young birds like this real fast.

A Coccidiosis overload can knock them down quickly. Usually birds that age have built resistance to the strains they have been exposed to, but...changes in weather conditions can cause an overload.

We do tend to think that the youngsters are only affected - given the right conditions or if there is a weakened immune system, adults can suffer as well.

Do you have the 14wk olds housed with the adults?

The older ones are 22 weeks and yes they are together all day. I gave these guys medicated feed and dirt in the brooder when they were little but being October hatch they haven't had much outdoor in the dirt time. They've been in the coop brooder since about a month old.

They were thrilled! But look at this disaster they were tromping around in.
