Treat ideas for 2 1/2 week old chicks?

Mine are almost 4 weeks and they loved uncooked oatmeal (chopped up), watermelon and clover. Haven't tried anything else yet.

My 1 and 2 wk old chicks eat whole grains (except ground corn) from 2 days old. This is soaked (not starter, Greener Pastures Farm recipe #3) and they love to dig around for the pieces that drop. They LOVE all the june bugs (in April) and worms my kids brings them (from day 2) and they dig around for their spilled grit and oyster shell. I gave them yogurt once but it was too messy. They loved it but hated their messy faces and necks. They also go crazy every time I bring them scrambled eggs with garlic (every day). The tiniest grains in their mix are prob the corn or millet. I don't know what starter looks like but maybe you could sprinkle a little around. Mine were also excited today to find some spelt flour that had fallen to the bottom of the shavings. Spelt is higher in protein than wheat. They don't seem to eat enough of their wheat berries so we give them fresh ground spelt flour out of our hands. They LOVE this!!! Some give them fresh clumps of sod every few days (from the beginning) but I haven't tried this. Mine also have milk all the time. They have perfect poops and we've had no probs since I started soaking the grains. Soooo, I don't know if any of this works along with what you're feeding yours but this combo hasn't caused any probs for ours. Ronda from Greener Pastures Farm has been feeding her chicks this way for years. Hope this helps!

mine are 4 weeks old now and we started with treats at 2 weeks. crickets were first, then torn romain that they had no interest in, strawberries which only a few liked but pretty much was a waste, and now worms that my son brings in for them (yay

) and they love things that move around the most, chopped cooked egg they like too. crickets are their faves though. oh wait, I have given them some canned corn that was leftover from dinner, and they really liked that.

we have found that a steady diet with grit included everyday will help them digest what you give them. we havent' had any problems, believe me they all poop just fine (it's quite appearent)
