Ok so i keep see frozen food as a treat for peoples chickens, i curious if they are like dogs and wouldnt that hurt their insides. Dogs stomachs will twist if they eat something to cold since their insides are so much hotter wouldnt a chicken be kinda the same?

I don't think so. Dogs don't have crops where food is ground up, and their entire system is different. My chickens eat frozen veggies and fruits (within moderation, of course) when the weather is hot and they sure seem to appreciate it.

Indeed, moderation and common sense is the key, for both chicken and dogs with frozen treats...
........as well as everything else in life, lol!!

Not too sure that frozen stuff hurts dogs all that bad either. I had a Golden Retriever whose favorite winter snack was running out into the yard and scarfing down on poopcicles. And you can figure that out without me defining it, I'm sure.

Mine don't quite seem to like frozen yet lol. They will let it sit for a little while before they eat it if it is. Even (most) cold stuff from the fridge, they're so spoiled lol

They love cold watermelon though!

Me neither..actually read up on it once long ago...and found moderation is the key.
A few ice cubes won't hurt them, but don't let them quaff down a quart of ice water....would make me sick too.

My chickens eat snow all the time even tho they have fresh warm water in the coop all winter.
I don't give the chooks melon anymore, loosens the poop a bit too much.....plus I want to eat the 'meat' of the melons.
But I do cut out the seed pack, then cut out the 'meat' for me, then put the seed pack on the rind and freeze that tidy little package for a chook treat on a hot afternoon.
Works great, no fruit flies in my kitchen and the chooks love it...actually freeze all fruit and veggie scraps in the summer, for the chooks and because of the fruit flies.

Mmm good to know, i read a story long time ago when some one put ice in the dogs water who just got done exercising and the dog kept having hat happen because of it. And that her vet had told her that ice and such was bad for them. And no you dont have to spell that out dogs are gross. If ours get our they go for cow pattys i refuse kisses from now on!!!

My dog likes an ice cube every now and then, but I've been told NOT to put ice cubes in their water by the vet. I never did/do, but it was/is good to know.

I don't think dogs are any hotter inside than a human, and humans suck down ice cold beverages all the time and don't die. Take stuff with a grain of salt.
