Oh the anticipation! They knew I had something! They were so excited!

It's not often that chickens refuse treats that are offered, but even they have standards.

Steele said, "Harumph, what are those things, I don't think they are food."

I can't figure out what they are from the photos either - cookies or chips?

They are some kind of wafer from Mexico. They looked like communion wafers used during Mass. They had the same taste (bland) and texture but were lovely pastel colors. While I rarely give food gifts to the chickens, these wafers simply could not be dressed up to eat.

Apparently the chickens thought the same thing!
