treated lumber?

An ingredient in the process of treating green treated lumber is cyanide. Nasty stuff that is. It wouldn't be good if they have access to alot of it. The other bad part in treated lumber (or CC) is that the chemicals in it is corrosive to metal. It's advisable to use dipped galvanised harware when attaching this stuff. Maybe the reason they have this to give away.

As far as structually, I'd definetly look at first it but most green treated lumber is made from 2700 southern pine. Real dense stuff and heavy. Very ridged and strong and can take a beating. It is used alot in wood roof girders that take heavy dead loads. So for a coop that is not going to be very big I'd have no problem using it. Structually speaking. Also the stuff stings like a mofo if you get a splinter. Worse then doug fir or SPF.
