Hi, I have read some really useful advice on this forum about treating turkeys with Blackhead using Cayenne Pepper. I am not sure if mine have blackhead, but I didn't know when I got them that they should not be housed on 'old' chicken ground, and we have the occasional 'sulphurous' looking, foamy / loose faeces passed. I thought that I would try the Cayenne at first - I am putting it in their food and water, although it seems to drop through the pellets rather easily and much is left in the dish. I just wanted to ask how long should I treat them for (they all seem to be eating and are quite lively), and how often / for how long should I treat them to prevent the disease coming back? We are currently building them a new home where chickens have not been kept. Any help would be gratefully received as we are new to turkeys...They are now just over a year old (we ended up keeping them after Christmas!)
