So we moved our coop over the weekend. Completely cleaned up the spot where it was sitting, scooping, raking etc.

Is there something we should treat the dirt with to help ready it for grass and eliminate the remaining odor?

Were the chickens pooping on the dirt that you cleaned? If so, I bet it is very fertile. Maybe too fertile.....might nitrogen burn. If you plan to add grass seed to it, I would suggest simply putting down a layer of fresh topsoil before you seed it. If you don't have access to clean topsoil, can you borrow or rent a small tiller and till the ground so that it is mixed?

Thanks...wasn't sure if there was something special we should do because of the poop factor :)

The nitrogen and phosporus(?) may stay 'hot' for awhile, inhibiting any growth.
If it 'stinks' I'd say it's probably still hot....time should take care of it.
If you're impatient and don't want to risk wasting grass seed, water the heck out of it before planting.

Note: adding water will increase the stink for a short time (days) afterwards.

True it could if drainage is an issue...and may well be if compaction is present.
