Treating for sour crop - and...

My Gertie has sour crop. Unmistakably. Its my first experience with sour crop. I just gave her her 1st dose of miconazole. She is currently inside, in the bath tub. Not hungry, but drinking water. How soon should I try her with scrambled egg?

My dilemma is this: I'm leaving town to babysit my grandson, on Tuesday. I will be gone until Saturday. DH will be home with the animals. He doesn't mind giving her the treatments (much), but he doesn't want her inside when I am gone. Can she go back with her flock and have regular food at that time?

Also: do I wait until she is done with her 7 days of treatment before offering probiotic?

I looked it up and seems there is no interactions between miconazole and probiotics so you could start those too. I truly believe probiotics help us and our chickens more than we know!

I'm no expert as to the timing of giving food after that, but scrambled eggs are so gentle on them that I can't imagine it being a problem.

Maybe @azygous or @TwoCrows can help more as this isn't something I've dealt with. I hope Gertie gets better fast!

Thank you! I put her in the chicken hospital during the day, yesterday. It was such a pretty day. It's attached to the main run, so she could see her flock. She did stand and walk a little. She slept inside, last night.
I offered a scrambled egg, yesterday. She did not eat it. But DH said he saw her eat a little of her regular food, last night. I started her pro-biotics, last night. I'll go out and change the flock waterers to pro-biotic water before I leave, today - since she'll be with them. DH will monitor to make sure she is safe with the flock.
I just learned that when I get back from babysitting, I have to leave again the next morning, to sign for the sale of my parents' home. I'll be gone another day and a half. The timing is terrible, but I have no choice. My DIL will come to give Gertie her medicine until I return.
I just wish I could stay and watch her through this, myself.

There's no reason why she can't be with her flock. Chickens always do better recovering when with their mates unless they're being picked on. Remember, miconazole must be given two times a day for a full seven days to be effective.
